An official Path Through History Site! Hancock House was built in the 1920s as a gift to the New York Historic Association by Horace Moses, a Ticonderoga native and successful paper manufacturer. His vision was to perpetuate "American Traditions in History and the Fine Arts" for the benefit of the public. The Georgian Revival style building, modeled on Thomas Hancock`s 18th century house in Boston, served as the association`s headquarters for many years. Today, it is home to the Ticonderoga Historical Society and houses a museum, gallery, and library.
