An official Path Through History Site! The Hyde Collection is an art museum with an extraordinary collection of more than 3,300 objects that span the history of Western art, including high caliber artworks by Old Masters such as Sandro Botticelli, Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, and Jacopo Tintoretto; modern masters such as Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso' and a fine collection of American art with works by George Bellows, Thomas Eakins, Childe Hassam, and Winslow Homer. The institution is a product of the golden age of the private art collector (c. 1890-1940) and an example of a rare genre of museums created during the American Renaissance. The Hyde is part of the legacy of dedicated art collectors who acquired objects of artistic significance, amassed collections, and left them for the public to experience and enjoy within an environment created for their display. Changing exhibits, lectures, concerts, museum store. Second Thursdays visit for free.
