An official Path Through History Site! The John Burroughs' Memorial State Historic Site is the burial site of the famous naturalist writer and conservationist, whose 27 books of nature and philosophical essays influenced millions. The site was part of his family's farm, and the rural landscape helped to shape his early appreciation of nature. The property features a picnic grove with interpretive signage and a trail leading to the grave site. Woodchuck Lodge, Burroughs' small farmhouse, can be toured just up the road.
