Enjoy the beautiful hills of Allegany County outside of historic, quaint Angelica while camping at McCarthy's Ranch Campground. Open and wooded sites, recreation hall, LP gas, luandry, and camp store. This natural setting provides an escape from city living for folks, mostly from Rochester and Buffalo, who leave their campers here year round, for a very reasonable $900 fee. The turnover rate is practically non-existent. The "ranch" officially opens May 1, and the water is turned off toward the end of October. Those wishing to stay for hunting season can come, but must bring their own water. To the original 300 acres another 100 acres have recently been purchased that already had ATV trails laid out. These trails are only for the use of the campers, and the 4-wheelers and such must have current registration and insurance. There are six ponds for catch-and-release fishing. On holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day) there are fireworks events.
