An official Path Through History Site! The Museum of Chinese in America is dedicated to preserving and presenting the history, heritage, culture and experiences of people of Chinese descent in the US. This expansive museum at the convergence of SoHo, Little Italy and Chinatown uses oral histories, video, photographs and written documents to bring to life the experiences of this vibrant immigrant community. The museum’s dramatic home, designed by acclaimed architect Maya Lin—who created the Vietnam Veterans Memorial—features bronze walls, reclaimed wood floors and a "journey wall" that describes the route each donor's family took to the United States. The surrounding Chinatown neighborhood, known for its ethnic cuisine, food stores and tourist shops, was home to many immigrants in the 19th and 20th centuries.
