Located adjacent to Buffalo’s historic “Elevator Alley”, Mutual Riverfront Park offers scenic views of a cluster of grain elevators that tower above the Buffalo River. The park features several rain gardens planted with a beautiful array of flowers, walking path with interpreted signage mounted on sandstone that was harvested from the site and an easy to use kayak launch. Mutual Riverfront Park was built and is owned by the New York Power Authority. Two beautiful brick buildings compliment the park. The Mutual Boat House, a replica of the historic Mutual Rowing Club, provides a facility to store kayaks and canoes, making kayaking and canoeing on the Buffalo River easy and accessible. The second building houses the Valley Community Association’s Waterfront Memories and More Heritage Center. The center provides a place to research the old waterfront neighborhood, including schools, people and one’s own family roots. The museum is open on Tuesday’s and Saturdays.
