An official Path Through History Site! The New York State Executive Mansion is the official residence of the Governor of New York. The Italianate building was constructed in 1856 and Samuel Tilden became the first governor to reside in the house in 1875. Guided tours of the mansion are available by reservation only. Tours of Governor`s residence are offered on Thursdays at 10 am, 11 am & 12 pm. with 2 weeks advance notice. Tours are not offered during July and August.
