An official Path Through History Site! The hydroelectric power produced at this plant is responsible for powering the majority of New York State, generating 2.4 million kilowatts, enough power to light 24 million 100-watt light bulbs at once! Visitors can learn about hydroelectricity and the historic role it has played in the Niagara Frontier with more than 50 interactive exhibits about hydroelectricity and an observation deck perched 350 feet above the gorge.
