An official Path Through History Site! Founded in 1876, the society preserves and promotes the history of Oneida County and the greater Mohawk Valley through collecting and displaying artifacts, operating a research library, and hosting over four dozen annual programs and special events at its Genesee Street home in Utica. The society occupies the former Christian Scientist Church, an imposing classically inspired landmark with a prominent portico that was built in 1914. The church`s former sanctuary serves as the society`s spacious exhibition space.
