Before Papavero Clay Studio took shape, Rusty Wheel Pottery was started in 2014 by studio potter, Jeremy Randall. Having taught for nearly fifteen years at the college level, and been working in his own studio since 2005, Jeremy had the opportunity and vision to open a ceramics studio in the center of Tully NY, 20 miles south of Syracuse NY. The mission of this studio was to provide a place where Adults and Kids could experience making in hands on classes and designed to share the complexities and joys that clay can bring. What began to take shape was a community of makers at all levels of ability, learning from each other and feeding into a creative pool that made this small studio much richer. Papavero Clay Studio is looking to grow this vision, providing more studio access, more class offerings, and more space to work. Join the community!!
Classes at Papavero are designed to allow anyone from the beginner to the experienced person to go away at the end of a session with objects that they have designed, made, finished and fired. Whether you haven't touched clay since grade school, or have a home studio and are looking to join into a community of casual makers, we have the space and opportunities for you. New sessions are starting all of the time and sessions run year round to make sure that you have the chance to get into the studio, and new for 2022 we will have short sessions, kids classes, decorating options, and studio rental space.
