An official Path Through History Site! The Pratt Library at Pratt Institute is in a 1896 landmark building with interiors by the Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company. The library opened in 1888 to serve not only students but the general public as well, was the first free public library in Brooklyn. The architect of the building was William Tubby.
