Situated on three acres with magnificent trees and lawns sloping to the Susquehanna River, the Georgian-style house was built in 1902 by architect Claude Bragdon for Gurdon Pumpelly. Gurdon Pumpelly raised tobacco and had a cigar factory in Owego. The Pumpelly House Estate also features the Carriage House, a wedding and event venue that seats 150 people and overlooks the lawn and the Susquehanna River. It features a full bar, onsite catering, outdoor space for weddings, riverside deck, wheelchair accessibility, and air conditioning.
