An official Path Through History Site! The Railroad Museum of Long Island has two locations, Greenport and Riverhead, dedicated to preserving and displaying Long Island Railroad history while educating the public on the importance of the railroad and its development on the Island. Established in 1990, the Railroad Museum of Long Island boasts a restoration workshop and visitor center in Riverhead that features exhibits and model trains, rare passenger and freight cars, and a miniature amusement park train that was located in the Long Island Railroad Pavilion at the 1960s World`s Fair.
