An official Path Through History site! Visit the Russian History Museum to experience the fascinating history, art, and culture of Russia and the Russian emigre community. The museum presents special exhibitions and engaging public programs, including tours and popular online lectures. It is home to a spectacular collection of objects from the 16th - 20th centuries, including art, military objects, books, religious artifacts, unique documents and photographs, and decorative art. Among them are numerous items that belonged to the Russian Imperial Family and Russia’s last Tsar, Nicholas II. The Russian History Museum is situated on the beautiful grounds of Holy Trinity Monastery, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Join us for a guided tour every Thursday at 1 PM, or schedule a custom tour for your class, organization, or group! Our tour guides offer a closer look at our spectacular collection, current exhibition, and the beauty of our Museum’s historic location. Experience the splendor of Russian ecclesiastical art in the first half of our weekly tour. We will guide you through our current exhibition, Revealing the Divine: Treasures of Russian Sacred Art, where you’ll see intricately painted icons, richly embroidered vestments, glittering chalices, hand-illustrated books, ornamented Easter eggs, and more. Then, you’ll visit the main church of Holy Trinity Monastery to learn how age-old traditions of sacred art live on in the life of the monastery.
