Sandy Island Beach State Park

FEATURED
Details

Sandy Island Beach State Park is a freshwater beach on Lake Ontario with a bathhouse, picnic area, and a car-top boat launch. The park offers fishing, kayaking, hiking, and bird watching. It's an important migratory route for the piping plover and black tern. Walkovers and viewing platforms are available so visitors can enjoy nature without causing harm to the fragile dunes, formed by wind and the waves of a giant sea that came long before Lake Ontario.
