Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building

An official Path Through History Site! Built in 1892, the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building served as both a memorial to Huntington resident soldiers who died in the Civil War and later as the Huntington Public Library until 1958. The spectacular building was given to the Historical Society in 2000. After eight years of restoration, the building was opened to the public as a museum, exhibit space and visitor's center. Today it contains the Trade School Movement exhibit and the history of the 1905 Sewing and Trade School building which is across the street
