Experience educational exhibits, guided tours, and watch from the observation decks as commercial vessels and cruise ships transit the U.S. Lock. The Seaway Visitor Center at Eisenhower Lock provides tourists and ship watchers with two observation decks where they can view commercial vessels and cruise ships from around the world as they transit the lock. Guides are available to provide additional information to tourists. Hundreds of ships from all over the world make thousands of transits through the St. Lawrence Seaway annually. They carry a wide variety of cargoes including grains, iron ore, coal, steel, stone, steel slabs, and project cargoes. The newly constructed Visitors Center which reopened in 2024 also hosts a variety of interactive educational displays. Learn about the intricate history and importance of this vital waterway, it's construction, impact, and everything that effect's 'America's Forth Coast'.
