A wealth of French and Indian and Revolutionary War artifacts rest beneath the surface of Lake George at three shipwreck sites managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Preserved by the cool waters, these sites are testament to the importance of the Lake George Area as two colonial superpowers collided here to battle for supremacy over the North American continent.
