Oneonta's oldest structure was built in 1807 by Lawrence Swart, a Revolutionary War Veteran from Schoharie County. Recently renovated, the house was awarded an historic preservation award by the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. It is used as an education center for local schools and those interested in its historical significance.
