An official Path Through History Site! The Heckscher Museum of Art is located in scenic Heckscher Park, in Huntington, New York, within walking distance of downtown shops and award-winning restaurants. Formally based on the private collection of August Heckscher - German immigrant, industrialist, real estate magnate, and philanthropist - the Heckscher Museum of Art, beside a Huntington Village pond, currently maintains a Permanent Collection of more than 2,500 works from the 16th to the 20th century, including European and American painting, sculpture, works on paper, and photography. The Museum provides a dynamic schedule of changing exhibitions on American art.
