The Homestead

The Homestead is a B&B style lodging space very close to Ithaca, NY - a gracefully large barn from the 1800's that has been converted into a beautiful modern home, complete with open beam ceilings and field stone walls. Enjoy your own private ground level, six room, 1000 square foot space, complete with full bath and kitchen. The location is very private and secure, yet spacious and open with lots of light. Surrounded by forests and state-protected natural areas makes the Homestead an ideal accommodation for those wanting to breathe some fresh country air. And it's close enough to all the shopping, state parks, hiking trails and college activity to make it a short drive but far enough away for privacy, security and a quiet night's sleep. 

The large ground-level apartment is the entire lower portion of the Homestead and includes an enclosed porch, private driveway with plenty of room for parking and a large yard. Russell and Deb, the hosts, live upstairs and are quickly available for anything that you might need. WiFi, DIRECTV, a complete furnished kitchen and private full bath are included. The cupboards with pot and pans, dishes and glassware, etc. and there is a full size refrigerator, electric range and oven, crock pot, toaster and microwave. The coffee and tea service is free with your stay along with a light breakfast of bagesl, english muffin, orange juice, etc.  

The master bedroom is a serene and restful retreat with a California king size bed. The second bedroom comes with two extra long twin beds large enough for an adult to sleep comfortably. The living room and kitchen space are an open design and has a couch, rocking chairs and a large farm table capable of seating eight people. Imagine a sit down meal with family and friends and enjoy a wonderful food prepared by you in the well appointed kitchen. There is a small library for catching up on some reading along with a DVD player and video collection near the TV, a pile of board games and a fantastic chess board available for your use. In the winter months, ask them to light the wood stove for cozy warmth.

The entire space has access to the free WiFi available with the rental. The driveway and entrance at ground level are private for your use only - complete with plenty of parking space. This space sleeps 4-6 adults comfortably and offers an entire floor of private living for less than it would cost to rent two rooms without a kitchen or stay at a B&B with less privacy.
