In 2011, John Sarno had an epiphany that the town of Patchogue needed something a little bit more off beat, out of the box, and eccentric from the other restaurants in town. A place that integrated his passion for sports and comedy. The Village Idiot’s mission was to create an environment where people like him could watch the games and feel at home. It’s a sanctuary for the sports enthusiast who wants a good laugh and a get away from the stresses of life.
The Village Idiot’s evolution from small pub to a full-on dining experience was a natural progression to meet demand. In August 2013, the full-service dining room opened up to what would become a massive success. The Village Idiot boasts a thriving nightlife with DJ’s spinning on the weekends. Happy Hour at The Village Idiot is always booming with drink specials and a positive party atmosphere.
