This 19th-century wine shop located on Rt. 54A between Branchport and Penn Yan, also known as the Hampstead Mansion, was built in 1838 by Henry Rose. Yates Cellars was established in 2000 and is a small, limited-production boutique winery operation with two vineyard locations, both in Yates County. They are located in the Finger Lakes Wine Region of New York State and the vineyards are on Keuka Lake. Among the crystal clear lakes and rolling hills, they grow and produce more than 25 varieties of wine made from native grapes, French hybrid grapes, and Vinifera grapes. Owner, vineyard manager and winemaker Alan Hunt has more than 30 years experience in the wine industry and Yates Cellars is the culmination of this expertise. Visit the tasting room and sales shop.
