  • Major-league sports at the corner of Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues have been a long time coming—since the 1950s, in fact—but the 18,200-seat Barclays Center is now a reality. Home to the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Islanders, the arena also features the more intimate 7,700-seat Tidal theater, the Shops at Barclays Center (including the Nets Lifestyle Shop by Adidas), and more than 50 local food vendors. In addition to the Nets and Islanders, the Barclays Center hosts college and prep basketball, boxing, circuses, family shows, and concerts ranging from Arcade Fire to Jay Z to Yanni.
