Mohansic is renowned for having the smallest greens (per square foot) in the County and many blind tee shots.
Joe Raitano, 30, is the youngest tenured PGA professional among the County courses. But the second-year Mohansic head professional learned from the best. For nine years he was an assistant under Met Section legend Bobby Heins.
While the 168-yard par-3 No. 7 over water gets everyone’s attention as the most picturesque hole at Mohansic, the long par-3 13th is arguably the course’s best hole. No. 13 is uniquely framed with tall oaks and a cliff decorating the right side of a small green. On the left is a strategically placed pot bunker.
Mohansic’s best stretch of holes begins at No. 13 followed by No. 14 (par-4, 432 yards) and No. 15 (par-4, 373 yards). Each hole is precision tight with extremely small greens.
