The Olympic Sports Complex, located just outside Lake Placid, provides guests the opportunity to explore where the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics took place. While there, visitors have a wide variety of activities to take part in depending on the season, from mountain biking and bobsledding on Olympic courses to hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. Cross-Country ski on 50km of trails, groomed for classical and skating techniques, which wander through the forests of the Olympic Sports Complex. The center's competition caliber trails are meticulously groomed and offer beginners and enthusiasts an enjoyable experience. Bobsled rides, with a professional driver and brakeman, begin at the half-mile point on the track and wind through turns known by sliders the world over. You'll feel the rumble of the sled thundering down the track. You'll speed through one turn, bank high on the next one and pick up speed on the straightaway. You'll go faster than you're allowed to drive a car through town. Then you'll get to the bottom and want to do it again.
