Through these community viewing events, alongside the recently announced New York State Community World Cup Grant Program, New York State is ensuring that communities in every region can experience this historic global moment in ways that feel local, inclusive, and welcoming.
Building on Governor Hochul’s Get Offline, Get Outside initiative, the community viewing events are designed to bring neighbors together in shared public spaces and encourage connection, movement, and time outdoors.
As part of the Governor’s State of the State agenda, New York State will also launch NY Kicks: A World Cup Legacy Investment Fund to expand youth soccer infrastructure in underserved communities and support new and improved soccer fields, facilities, equipment, and programming that will benefit young people long after the tournament concludes.
Together, these efforts reflect a broader statewide commitment to access, inclusion, and lasting community impact.
