COLORFUL FALL FOLIAGE EMERGING ACROSS NEW YORK STATE

Adirondacks Expecting the Most Significant Color Changes this Weekend

    View Reports Below

This is the first 2026 I LOVE NY Fall Foliage Report for New York State. Reports are obtained from more than 100 volunteer field observers and reflect expected color conditions for the coming weekend. Reports are issued every Wednesday afternoon. I LOVE NY defines "peak" as the best overall appearance the foliage will have during the season, taking into account color transition, brilliance, and leaf droppage.

New York State’s 2026 fall foliage season is underway, with the first signs of the spectacular seasonal colors appearing in regions throughout Upstate New York, and the most significant changes expected in the Adirondacks. This is according to the field reports from volunteer observers for the Empire State Development Division of Tourism’s I LOVE NY program.

Locations with the most significant foliage change this weekend will include Tupper Lake, Long Lake, Wilmington, Benson, Lake Pleasant and Old Forge (Adirondacks); Delhi (Catskills); and Utica (Central New York).
