April 9 conversation at the Tang brings together artists working across ceramics and painting

Saratoga Springs, NY (March 18, 2026) — The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College invites the public to a Dunkerley Dialogue with sculptor Kathy Butterly, painter Elena Sisto, and Matthew Wilt, Robert Davison Chair in Art and Associate Professor of Ceramics at Skidmore College, on Thursday, April 9, at 6 pm, in the Payne Room.

Glens Falls, NY – The Hyde Collection will open a new exhibition of modern art on Saturday, April 11, bringing together the ceramics of Toshiko Takaezu (American, 1922–2011) and several postwar abstract painters from the Museum’s permanent collection. The exhibition, Voices of Abstraction, presents a visual conversation between Takaezu's work and abstract painters such as Sam Gilliam, Grace Hartigan, and Adolph Gottlieb. Takaezu’s vessels operate as three-dimensional canvases animated by gesture and color.
