NYS Brewers AssociationAn Unparalleled New York Experience

Rochester, N.Y. - Tickets are now on sale for the Sept. 4 BriteVibes Festival™ - a one-day event celebrating all things New York State: craft beer, food, musicians, artists and more. Created by the New York State Brewers Association in partnership with Brewery Ommegang, BriteVibes Festival™ will take place at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, providing a central location for guests attending from across New York. Tickets are available online for VIP, general admission and the evening concert portion only.

NYS Parks, Recreation, Historic Preservation Katonah, NY -- John Jay Homestead State Historic Site will host a nature walk on Friday, August 6th at 10:30.

Join guest educator Peter Cutul for this guided walk through the grounds of John Jay Homestead.  During the walk you will search for signs of natural life including plants, animals and their tracks, and discuss the ecological history of the site.  This relaxed walk is designed for families and will last approximately one hour.

NYS Reimagine Rebuild RenewFacility for Backstretch Workers Honors Late Philanthropist, Horse Owner and Breeder Marylou Whitney

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the completion of the Marylou Whitney Pavilion at the Saratoga Race Course. The 5,000-square-foot facility will replace a temporary tent used by backstretch workers for functions and dinners at Saratoga. The Pavilion will serve as a permanent structure to be used during the Saratoga Meet for those who live and provide care for horses through the season. Marylou Whitney and her husband John Hendrickson founded the Saratoga Backstretch Appreciation Program, which provides entertainment, food, movies and language instruction to Backstretch workers during the Saratoga Meet.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced a new partnership between the New York Power Authority, New York State Canal Corporation and Tentrr to provide overnight accommodations through hassle-free campsites alongside New York's Canals this summer. As part of Governor Cuomo's Reimagine the Canals initiative and the recently announced "On the Canals" excursions program, Tentrr created four fully-outfitted campsites for visitors to reserve, most within a short distance of a free "On the Canals" excursion opportunity.

ALIVE ON 25 Summer Street FestivalRiverhead, NY (June, 2020) - The Downtown Riverhead Business Improvement District [BID] announces the revival of its largest event,  Alive on 25 [AO25], returning for four Thursday nights in July and August, 2021. It’s the biggest and most anticipated event in Riverhead!

The series kicks off July 1st with fireworks scheduled for 9:15pm. Three events will follow on July 15, 19, and August 12, 2021 (rain date August 19). All events run from 5-9:30pm along Peconic Avenue and Main Street, between Griffing Avenue (west) and Union Avenue (east).

Genesee County Fair 2021Batavia, N.Y. – One of the longest consecutively running county fairs in New York State, the Genesee County Fair is celebrating its 181st year. It will take place July 24 – 31, 2021 at the Genesee County Fairgrounds. A short drive from both Rochester and Buffalo, and just $10 per carload, it is one of the most affordable family activities of the summer. 

Run 100% by volunteers, the county fair continues to grow and once again includes a second weekend. Over the eight days of the fair, attendees will enjoy nightly live music, classic fair foods, meet and greets with animals and a Midway courtesy of Hammerl Amusements.

Skaneateles Antique and Classic Boat ShowFormer Mailboat Makes Triumphant Return

Skaneateles, N.Y. -- Before there was the Barbara S. Wiles delivering mail to summer residents along Skaneateles Lake, there was the Pat II, which plied the lake’s waters from 1956 to 1991. Now, 30 years since its last appearance, the newly renovated Pat II—one of the few all-electric passenger vessels in the country—returns to Skaneateles for the 43rd Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show. 

The show, hosted by the Finger Lakes Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society and the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, runs July 23-25 in Clift Park, Hours are 3 p.m. to dusk Friday, 9 a.m. to dusk Saturday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Bethel, N.Y. -- (June 22nd, 2021) – Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, a nonprofit cultural organization located in Bethel, NY, in partnership with Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, is proud to announce an outdoor screening of Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson’s debut film SUMMER OF SOUL on Thursday, July 1st on The Terrace Stage.
Over the course of six weeks in the summer of 1969, just one hundred miles south of Bethel, NY, where Woodstock was held, The Harlem Cultural Festival was filmed in Mount Morris Park (now Marcus Garvey Park). The footage was never seen and largely forgotten–until now. Thompson presents a powerful and transporting documentary: part music film, part historical record, created around an epic event that celebrated Black history, culture, and fashion.

Lake Placid July 4 ParadeLake Placid, NY - Lake Placid is getting ready for its spectacular 4th of July celebration, complete with a parade down Main Street and the "Set the Night to Music" fireworks extravaganza.

All are invited to participate in Lake Placid's annual July 4th Independence Day parade. Build a float, bring out that classic car, or just don some patriotic duds and march.
