(June 10, 2024) — The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College announces the twenty-third season of its popular summer concert series, Upbeat on the Roof, which will run each Thursday from July 11 through August 15. Also returning this season are art-making activity kits for kids, called Crafts on the Grass.

LGBTQ+ individuals have shaped and enhanced society throughout recorded history, and GCV&M welcomes visitors to join in exploring and celebrating this shared history.

Antique and Classic Boat ShowNew This Year: A Free Parking Shuttle

Skaneateles, N.Y. - Oh, the places they have been. The stories they could tell. And soon, these storied boats of yesteryear will be docking in Skaneateles. The Antique and Classic Boat Show, now in its 46th year, returns to Clift Park July 26-28. Hours are 3 p.m. to dusk Friday, 9 a.m. to dusk Saturday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the completion of a new Visitor Center, improved parking and enhanced exhibits at Bayard Cutting Arboretum State Park on the South Shore of Long Island. The new 1,600 square-foot Visitor Center will educate visitors about the Cutting family and their historic 60-room, Tudor-style mansion, the landscaped grounds with wide variety of trees, shrubs and plants, and the impact of ongoing climate change on Long Island.

Tang Guide tours will be every Sunday from July 14 through August 18 at 2 pm. These tours of current exhibitions are given by Tang Guides, members of the Museum’s team of trained docents that includes Skidmore students.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Museum's Schulyer C. Townson Terrace Garden and the historic mansion, music lovers can mark their calendars for three Wednesday evenings on June 12, July, 24, and August 21. Garden Vibes, celebrating its 30th year, will host the outdoor concerts on June 14, July 19, and August 16 on the East Lawn, located on the east side of the mansion next to the Schuyler C. Townson Terrace Garden.
