Lake George Regional Chamber of CommerceLake George, NY — A total of 17 restaurants around Lake George area are offering a special Mardi Gras gumbo and Common Roots brew for $5 as part of the second Stews ‘N’ Brews event, Saturday, February 29, 12-5 p.m. Also, new this year, for $5 two shuttles, Hoppy Trails and Spa City Tours will run routes to help patrons get from restaurant to restaurant.  The $5 ticket also allows patrons to enter into raffles at every establishment that are valued at a minimum of dinner for two or approximately $50.

The New York Craft Brewers Competition was held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Rochester NY.  43 expert beer judges from across the state came together to judge 642 beers from 123 New York State breweries to award gold, silver, and bronze medals to 45 breweries with the Governor’s Excelsior Cup being awarded to the Best of Show beer in the state, which was awarded for the second consecutive year to Threes Brewing in Brooklyn for their Passing Time Grisette. This competition is the largest craft beer competition in the state, and the second largest state competition in the country behind California. …

The New York State Craft Beer Competition will award medals to the best beers in 20 categories, and the highest scoring beer in all categories will be awarded the Governor's Excelsior Cup. Sponsored by the New York State Brewers Association, top professional and amateur judges from around the state will sample submitted beers in an official, private judging session on July 29, 2017.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the first-ever Taste NY Experience tasting event to showcase more than four dozen of the State’s top wine, beer, spirits and cider producers at Pier A Harbor House—one of New York City’s most iconic and historic landmarks.  The May 24 event comes on the heels of the inaugural Taste NY Craft Beer Challenge competition, which yesterday named Brewery Ommegang and Roscoe NY Beer Co. as New York’s favorite beers. The craft beverage industry has grown 112 percent since the Governor held the first Beer, Wine, Spirits and Cider summit in 2012.
