Governor Kathy Hochul today announced premium sake maker Dassai, celebrated the opening of their $80 million, 55,000 square foot, state-of-the-art brewery and tasting room in Hyde Park, Dutchess County, and the launch of their new U.S. brand, Dassai Blue. Over the past thirty years, Dassai has experienced exponential growth in Japan, the U.S. and globally. Opening their New York brewery is their latest expansion into the global sake market.

Schenectady, N.Y. (September 15, 2023) – Discover Schenectady is re-branding its popular Schenectady Ale Trail to include the county’s distilleries and meadery. The trail will now be known as Schenectady Sips – Craft Beverage Trail. The trail features six breweries including Back Barn Brewing Co., Druthers Brewing Co., Frog Alley Brewing Co., Great Flats Brewing, Seven Points Brewery and Wolf Hollow Brewing Co. New to the trail are the Schenectady Distilling Co., Murray’s Fools Distilling Co. and Helderberg Meadworks.

Brooklyn, N.Y. – The annual festival that celebrates Bavarian culture, food, and beer is coming to Downtown Brooklyn for an Oktoberfest Bash hosted by DeKalb Market Hall and Sixpoint Brewery.  Inspired by the annual German festival, the event will include authentic eats, games, and activities for all ages. Traditional music and throwback tunes from the Street Brass Band and Shag Horns will keep the party going and people dancing all day.  The Oktoberfest Bash is free and will take place on Saturday, September 23 from 12 pm – 10 pm downstairs at City Point, which is located at 445 Albee Square West in Downtown Brooklyn.

Every Friday evening in July, HHS will be offering walking tours of the National Historic Landmark District that focus on the eerie and unexplained occurrences in New Paltz history. Guests will meet at the DuBois Fort Visitor Center at 7:30 PM for a glass of locally-made hard cider or craft beer. Tupper Lake, NY (February 2, 2023) – The Town of Tupper Lake is hosting its annual BrewSki event on Saturday, February 25 from 12-4 p.m. at the Tupper Lake Golf Course.

BrewSki features 17 local and regional breweries that offer samples and the opportunity to learn about regionally produced beers and the breweries that produce them; while skiing, snowshoeing and riding along the trails. Event organizers also arrange fire pits at which to rest along the trail and fat tire bike rental from High Peaks Cyclery. The event culminates with an after party at Raquette River Brewing featuring live music with Mickey and Claire.
