NYS Parks, Recreation, Historic Preservation Visitors Reminded to Practice Social Distancing and Respect the Rules

Jones Beach Limited to Air Show Ticket Holders Only for Friday, Saturday and Sunday

New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) will open 22 beaches, pools and spraygrounds across the state for swimming on Memorial Day weekend. State Park beaches, campgrounds and picnic areas will return to normal operating capacity this summer. Park visitors are reminded to practice social distancing, respect the rules, and do their part to keep parks and beaches open and safe for everyone.

ORDA logoHighmount, NY – As the Catskill Region enters Phase 3 of NY Forward, Belleayre Mountain Beach plans to welcome guests this Sunday, June 28th.

The Belleayre Beach will be open Wednesday through Friday 11:00am – 6:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 10:00am – 7:00pm.  It will operate on a reduced capacity and follow NY State protocols including the requirement of face coverings for guests within certain locations and public areas. NYS - Making Progress HappenActing on a commitment to coordinate regional policies in response to COVID-19, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, and Delaware Governor John Carney today announced a multi-state agreement to reopen public and private beaches with certain restrictions in place effective, Friday, May 22. This approach will better align the states' policies ahead of the summer months.

Empire State Development (ESD) today welcomed the World Surf League's 2019 Longboard Tour to Long Beach, Nassau County. More than 100 professional surfers are expected to compete across the seven-day event, marking the league's first New York State event in eight years. The post-Labor Day competition is expected help extend the summer tourism season on Long Island while promoting the region as a travel and surf destination.
