Harlem One StopInitiative Celebrates New York State’s Newly Designated Harlem Renaissance Cultural District

New York, N.Y. (May 11, 2026) — Harlem One Stop proudly announces the 2026 Harlem Culture Crawl, a two-day, self-guided cultural experience taking place May 16–17, 2026. The event invites the public to explore Harlem’s rich artistic, historical, and cultural landscape across 20 participating venues.

Through a series of curated open houses, participants will enjoy an immersive and flexible experience, navigating their journey via a dedicated website, printed guides, and the Bloomberg Connects Arts & Culture app.

The Harlem Culture Crawl serves as a kickoff celebration of the recently designated Harlem Renaissance Arts & Culture District—sponsored by Senator Cordell Cleare and Assemblymember Jordan Wright and signed into law by Governor Kathy Hochul during the 2025 Harlem Week event.

At a time when cultural narratives are being challenged and redefined, the Harlem Culture Crawl offers an opportunity for the community and visitors alike to engage directly with the living legacy of the African, Caribbean, and LatinX diaspora that defines Harlem as a global center of influence.

“Harlem has always been more than a neighborhood—it is a cultural movement,” said Yuien Chin, Founder and Executive Director of Harlem One Stop. “The Harlem Culture Crawl is an invitation to walk through history, engage with the present, aligning with broader efforts to recognize and preserve the neighborhood’s historic and cultural contributions.”
