Garden City, N.Y.— The Pierrot Chamber Music Festival celebrates its 45th Anniversary Season this July with a two-week intensive program and a series of public concerts at the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center, July 14–24, 2026. The Pierrot Chamber Music Festival was founded in 1982 by flutist Susan Deaver and cellist Maureen Hynes, both members of The Pierrot Consort. Each July the Pierrot Festival brings together precollege and college musicians for an immersive experience in the study and performance of standard and contemporary chamber music repertoire. Participants engage in daily chamber music coachings, performance master classes, educational residencies, chamber orchestra and a series of six concerts. Festival Faculty includes members of The Pierrot Consort, the San Diego Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, American Ballet Theatre Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, Broadway orchestras, and leading music educators from Long Island. In celebration of its 45th Anniversary Season, a commissioned piece for The Pierrot Consort by composer Sidney Marquez Boquiren, as well as a new work for Festival Chamber Orchestra by composer Kevin Lubin. B commissioned works will be premiered on the Festival Concert Series.

Friday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m. – The Pierrot Consort & Guest Artists
Adelphi University Performing Arts Center located at 1 South Ave, Garden City, NY 11530. The Pierrot Consort, the faculty ensemble at the Pierrot Chamber Music Festival, includes Susan Deaver, flute; Dale Stuckenbruck, violin; Veronica Salas, viola; Maureen Hynes, cello; and Heawon Kim, piano; joined by guest artists Heejeon Ahn, violin; Sung Jin Lee, viola; Noah Koh, cello and Douglas Aliano, bass. The performance will include music of Mozart, Ginastera, Hummel and the premier of a piece by Sidney Boquiren written especially for The Pierrot Consort for the 45th Anniversary Season of the Pierrot Chamber Music Festival. Friday, July 24 at 7:30 – Festival Chamber Orchestra Concert & Festival Participants Adelphi University Performing Arts Center located at 1 South Ave, Garden City, NY 11530. ORCHESTRAL MUSIC FOR A SUMMER EVENING
The Festival Chamber Orchestra with Susan Deaver, conductor, will perform music of Dvorak, Elgar and Beethoven in the final concert of the Pierrot Chamber Music Festival. In addition, the concert will include a performance by the Precollege Chamber Orchestra with conductor Douglas Aliano. The concert will conclude with several selections featuring all Festival Participants, including the world premiere of “A Rose for Pierrot,” by Kevin Lubin which was commissioned by the Pierrot Festival in honor of the 45th Anniversary Season.
