Niagara Falls, NY (May 6, 2026) – For the second straight year, Rainbow Air Helicopter Tours in Niagara Falls, NY, has been named a finalist in USA Today’s 10BEST Readers Choice Awards for Best Helicopter Tour in the United States. Last year’s top-five finish in the newspaper’s poll came on the heels of Rainbow Air winning the Newsweek Magazine readers’ poll in 2024.
Voters looking to support Rainbow Air and its reinvented multi-functional attraction can go online to vote at https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/rainbow-air-helicopter-tours-niagara-falls-new-york/. People can vote once per day until voting closes at noon on June 1.
“This announcement is more proof that Rainbow Air is gaining momentum with visitors to Niagara Falls who are looking for the very best and most unforgettable experiences,” said Patrick Keyes, Sales and Marketing Manager for Rainbow Air. “Getting notified during National Travel & Tourism Week is especially fitting, as Rainbow Air is heavily involved in promoting our destination to the world. We’re thrilled that our fantastic helicopter tours are once again recognized on the national level as being right at the top of the industry.”
This nomination is the first national recognition since the company opened its new 30,000 sq ft Rainbow Air Tourism Center just outside the city’s downtown core in July 2025. The multi-functional building has made Rainbow Air a year-round attraction for people of all ages and interests. A flood of five-star online reviews helps the case for the Niagara Falls helicopter tour being at the top of the list in this annual poll.
Located at 56 Acheson Drive in the Falls, off Buffalo Avenue, Rainbow Air is a year-round tourist attraction, with the main feature being the tours over the Falls in the company's new Airbus H130 helicopters. They are the quietest in their class and the safest helicopters ever built, Keyes said, with seating for up to seven people in climate-controlled comfort. The tours go into Canadian airspace to give the only panoramic view of the Falls available from the US side without needing a passport or visa to cross the bridge.
More than a million people have flown with Rainbow Air since it started in 1994, and the company is working hard to make its reinvented presence become synonymous with visiting Niagara Falls.
“Rainbow Air is becoming much more than the helicopter tours, but those breathtaking flights are still the core of our mission,” Keyes said. “We look forward to offering helicopter tours for many years to come. We’d love to get support in the poll from Rainbow Air’s fans so everyone knows that Niagara Falls is the best place to experience such an amazing ride.”
The Tourism Center also houses “Niagara Virtual,” with 11 state-of-the-art Virtual Reality simulators that give guests full control as they virtually parasail over, under, and all around the Falls. This unique experience is weather proof and available every day in the company’s year-round operation. A heritage gallery offers guests even more ways to spend time in the Tourism Center and learn more about the city’s unique history.
