Studio Instructor Presentations
August 4, 2026 from 7:30 – 9:30 pm
Attend free, informal lectures by world-renowned Studio instructors. Hear instructors speak about their work in unstructured and highly informative sessions in The Studio Theater on Tuesday nights throughout the summer class sessions.
This week features Nicola Causin, Sayaka Suzuki, Jeri Warhaftig, and Arthur Wilson.
Little Gather | The Laughing Classroom
August 5, 2026 from 11 am – 12 pm
Experience the excitement of forces and motion as eager volunteers join The Laughing Classroom on stage for a high-energy performance full of comedy and discovery. Working together, they’ll explore the wonders of pushes, pulls, gravity, centrifugal force, centripetal force, and acceleration.
With plenty of audience participation, big reactions, and entertaining science in action, this lively performance is sure to have kids laughing, learning, and wanting to jump right in.
This program is all about having fun and is perfect for youngsters aged 11 and under, but everyone is welcome and encouraged to join in the fun!
Studio Livestream Demonstration | Sayaka Suzuki
August 5, 2026 from 11 – 12 pm
Watch artist-instructor Sayaka Suzuki demonstrate for her pâte de verre class at The Studio. This class will explore the traditional art Nouveau style of pâte de verre, a glass casting and mold-making process using glass powders and frit. The results of pâte de verre are unique—ranging from completely opaque, like marble, to translucent to transparent with opaque components.
Suzuki creates works that explore her deep roots in Japanese culture in conjunction with her newly adopted identity as an American immigrant.

Glassmaking Institute Information Session
August 7, 2026 from 12 – 1 pm
Interested in learning more about the Glassmaking Institute? Join us for one of our virtual information sessions! These Zoom sessions will provide attendees with a chance to learn about the program and ask questions.
The Glassmaking Institute is a two-year program that is the first of its kind in the US. Students within the program will attend six studio classes per week, including flameworking, kiln forming, and cold working.
Applications will open July 1, 2026, and close October 30, 2026. Classes begin Tuesday, September 7, 2027.
Applications are open to US and international students.
Friday See and Sketch: Gallery Sketching with Hiram Cray
Every Friday through August 14, 2026 from 2 – 3 pm
Join us this summer for sketching in the galleries!
Grab some paper and pencils and get ready to learn more about the practice of sketching with Hiram Cray. Cray is a professional artist and educator.
Learn how to capture on paper the amazing properties of glass or simply follow along and discover the Corning Museum of Glass through the eyes of an artist.
Participants of all ages are welcome, and the group will meet in the Admissions Lobby.
*Paper and pencils are provided. Free with admission.
Free Admission for Active-Duty Military + Families - Blue Star Museums Program
The Museum is an active participant in the Blue Star Museums program, offering free Museum admission to all active-duty military and their families on Armed Forces Day through Labor Day. * As always, Museum admission is valid for two consecutive days.
*The Museum also offers a 15% discount to all active military and veterans all year long. During the month of November, the Museum celebrates veterans with free admission to all military veterans.
About the Corning Museum of Glass:
In 2026, the Corning Museum of Glass celebrates 75 years as the foremost authority on the art, history, and science of glass. It is home to the world’s most important collection of glass, including the finest examples of glassmaking spanning 3,500 years. Live glassblowing demonstrations (offered at the Museum and on the road) bring the material to life. Daily Make Your Own Glass experiences at the Museum enable visitors to create work in a state-of-the-art glassmaking studio. The campus in Corning includes The Studio, a year-round glassmaking school celebrating 30 years in 2026, and the Rakow Research Library, with the world’s preeminent collection of materials on the art and history of glass. Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes Wine Country of New York State, the Museum is open daily 9 a.m.– 5 p.m. from April through December. Winter Hours (January–March) are 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on Monday – Tuesday, Thursday – Sunday (closed Wednesdays). Children and teens, 17 and under, receive free admission.
