Brooklyn, NY - Coney Island USA, the neighborhood’s beloved nonprofit arts organization has announced official walking tours. History lovers can now take a stroll with a licensed New York City tour guide through Coney Island’s incredible past and present on this new amusement district walking tour. The 90-minute guided tour brings the eccentric, bizarre history of Coney Island to life for both tourists and lifelong New Yorkers.

Guests will learn about the vanished amusement parks that shaped modern entertainment, incredible attractions such as the legendary Elephant Hotel, and the eccentric characters and wild personalities that have long made Coney Island the people’s playground, one of the most interesting and fabled places on earth.

Tickets are $35 and include admission to the Coney Island Museum after the tour. Walking tours meet every Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm at Coney Island USA, inside the oldest landmarked building in the amusement district. Tours can also be scheduled for a weekday by making a prior reservation online.

The Coney Island Museum, established in 1983, is the only collecting institution in the world singularly dedicated to preserving, protecting, and interpreting the rich history of the People’s Playground. It houses the world’s premier collection of Coney Island photographs, paintings, ephemera, amusement-related objects, architectural elements, and vintage signs on view to the public.
