A Vibrant Celebration of Pride, Visibility, and Belonging Takes Over
Pioneer Park on Saturday, June 27, 2026 From 11 AM - 2 PM

Cooperstown, NY – In honor of Pride Month, Cooperstown Pride is bringing the community together for a vibrant celebration of love, identity, visibility, and belonging. In partnership with Cooperstown Central School’s Identity Alliance, the Cooperstown Pride Block Party invites LGBTQ+ community members, allies, families, neighbors, and visitors to gather for an afternoon filled with music, creativity, connection, and pride. This free, family-friendly celebration will take place on Saturday, June 27, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Pioneer Park, located at Main and Pioneer Streets in the heart of Cooperstown.

Last year’s Block Party raised more than $2,000 for Cooperstown Central School’s Identity Alliance, showing the impact that’s possible when a community comes together around equality, safety, and belonging.

“Identity Alliance exists to help every student feel seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are,” says Rebecca Burk-Sciallo, Co-Advisor of the Identity Alliance. “The generosity behind the Cooperstown Pride Block Party is more than a donation. It is a powerful reminder to our LGBTQ+ students, allies, and young people that this community stands with them. At a time when belonging and safety matter deeply, that support means everything.”

This year’s Block Party will fill Pioneer Park with music, performances, hands-on crafts, a glitter bar, local vendors, community organizations, food, special appearances, and dance party sets from DJ Raphael and Benji Spears. Glimmerglass Festival Resident Artists will bring their powerhouse vocals and theatrical energy to the celebration, adding a one-of-a-kind performance moment to the afternoon.

Local partners include Barnyard Swing Miniature Golf, Cooperstown Coworks, Friends of the Village Library, Landmark Inn, Mel’s at 22, Mohican Flowers, Rigby Handcrafts, Rudy’s Liquor Store, Stagecoach Coffee, the Village Library of Cooperstown, and more to be announced.

Free and open to all, the Cooperstown Pride Block Party invites LGBTQ+ community members, allies, families, neighbors, and visitors to come together for an afternoon of joy, visibility, and shared community pride.

About Cooperstown Central School’s Identity Alliance

The Cooperstown Central School’s Identity Alliance mission is to provide a more inclusive and celebratory environment for our LGBTQ+ community, allies, and all students. Every student deserves to be seen and celebrated for the uniqueness that is their life. Identity Alliance’s goals and objectives for extracurricular is to maintain a safe space for all students to express themselves and realize that their identities are valid and should be celebrated. We create clear expectations that students have rights to take space in our school community and beyond. To understand their voice and rights while being affirmed in their journey of identity. We will create spaces where students have a network of safe adults and peers, a place to find and secure needed resources and tools as they navigate their way.
