Glens Falls, NY —The Glens Falls Collaborative hosts its annual FitFest event in Glens Falls City Park on Saturday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to noon. It is free and open to the public.
This year, the 5K returns! Walk, run or jog to benefit the WAIT House. Registration for the race is at 8 a.m. with the race starting at 8:30 a.m. The first 50 registrants get a free T-shirt. Registration is $50, free for ages 10 and under. Groups of three or more get $10 off each participant, and coupon codes are available for select running groups. The community is invited to attend FitFest to discover new ways to stay active and feel great, with live fitness demonstrations, giveaways and challenges, interactive vendor booths, the opportunity to connect with local fitness and health professionals, and plenty of family-friendly fun.
Returning as event chair is Renshi Chris Murphy of Glens Falls Karate Academy, with his co-chair, Shawn Weinberger of Keena PEO Services. “FitFest is a great way to showcase all that our area has to offer,” says Renshi Murphy. “We want people to see that staying active is fun, approachable, and something the whole family can enjoy. Whether it’s martial arts, yoga, dance, or strength training, you might just discover a new passion.”
Attendees can watch or participate in drop-in fitness classes, learn about nutrition and mindfulness, or just come for the freebies. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just beginning your wellness journey, FitFest welcomes you to explore what the greater Glens Falls area has to offer, with something for everyone.
The event is sponsored by Glens Falls Karate Academy, Keena PEO Services, Great Meadow Credit Union, Highmark and New York State of Health along with support from The City of Glens Falls, The Glens Falls Business Improvement District, and Advokate.
