Buffalo and Erie County Botanic Gardens Holiday HappeningsThe Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens has endless opportunities for magical holiday fun now through December. From Western New York traditions like the popular Poinsettia Exhibit to new Mini-Golf nights, there is something fun for everyone!

Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens has filled their calendar with magical holiday experiences that will create unforgettable memories and bring holiday joy to all. Whether it’s a family activity or a date night, the seasonal plants and lights are a perfect way to make the most of this holiday season in the warmth of the conservatory. 

The Poinsettia Exhibit returns as a holiday favorite that has become an annual traditional for many in the Buffalo area. This year the poinsettia collection features hundreds of bold, bright colors in deep reds and whites as well as unique bright yellows, deep pinks, and more to complement the traditional varieties. Step into the warm embrace of the tropical conservatory, filled to the brim with pretty poinsettias of all sizes and colors. The exhibit is on display daily through January 4 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Special holiday hours are posted for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve. The Poinsettia Exhibit is included with regular admission. 

Make the most of your visit to the Poinsettia Exhibit during their gift shopping experience, Cozy Crafters Artisan Market. The holidays are just around the corner, and there’s no better place to start holiday shopping than at this market. Step into the enchanting wonderland filled with dozens of local artisan vendors surrounded by twinkling lights and hundreds of vibrant poinsettias. Indulge in seasonal delights and sip on delicious beverages while shopping for the perfect hand-made gift. This special shopping experience will be taking place Saturday, December 6 from 10:00am to 4:00pm and is included with regular admission. The full list of vendors is available at buffalogardens.com.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience the Poinsettia Exhibit at night during Poinsettias After Dark. Thousands of twinkling lights will guide guests through the magically illuminated greenhouses accompanied by joyful holiday tunes. This is a perfect way to relax and unwind during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. This after-hours event will be taking place on select nights from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on November 28, December 6, 12, 19, 26, 29 and 30. Tickets are $19 for adults, $17 for seniors (62+) and students (13+), $10 for kids aged 3-12, and kids 2 and under are free but must have a ticket.

Santa Claus is coming to town and families won't want to miss this opportunity to snap the perfect holiday family photo. Santa will be at the Botanical Gardens during Poinsettias After Dark on Friday, November 29 from 5:00pm-9:00pm. He will also be on site the following day from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Visitors can explore the Poinsettia Exhibit, soak in the holiday cheer, and take their own photos with Santa for no additional charge. This special visit is included with admission and organizers recommend getting tickets ahead of time at buffalogardens.com. 

To make the most of the Poinsettias After Dark experience, visitors will be excited to take part in a brand-new family friendly Mini-Glow Golf event happening on December 13 and 20 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. A nine-hole light-up mini-golf course will be set up inside the Botanical Gardens during Poinsettias After Dark. This putt-putt adventure will be unlike any other surrounded by tropical glowing plants and poinsettias inside the warm conservatory. Mini-Glow Golf makes for a fun date night, an outing with friends, or a memorable family activity. Tickets are $20 per participant and food and beverage vendors will be on site. 

For those looking to learn something new this holiday season can learn how to create a fresh Conifer Wreath on Saturday, December 6 at 2:00pm. A wire wreath form, paddle wire and fresh materials are provided in this workshop. Tickets are $65 per person and pre-registration is required. A Holiday Card Linocut Workshop is also scheduled for Saturday, December 13 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Participants will be guided through the entire process of sketching, carving, and printing using the linocut method. All supplies are included, participants will take home a linocut block of their own creation, as well as several prints of their design.
