June 2024 Programming at Brooklyn Bridge ParkBrooklyn, NY — Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) and Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy are offering a wide variety of free and low-cost summer programming at Brooklyn Bridge Park that includes music concerts, dance parties, kayaking, and more! Events include:

  • the Conservancy’s new Lazy Daze series, which features an opportunity to relax, lay out, and enjoy chill Sunday afternoons (4:00 - 9:00PM) at Pier 6 Liberty Lawn in Brooklyn Bridge Park, while a rotation of DJs are featured in the background. Food and drink will be available for sale by Fornino.
  • Sounds at Sunset, a series of free concerts that take place on Friday evenings across the summer season at Pier 3 Plaza.
  • various family-friendly programs, such as the Big Summer Pride Twirl (Saturday, June 8 from 4:00 - 9:00PM), Puppets! With Mango Moon (Saturday, June 22 from 10:00AM - 12:00PM), and Free Kayaking (throughout the summer).

Summer programming officially kicks off with the Sound & Color! Spring Festival on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 5:00PM. A celebration of colors, culture, spring, and unity, this event expands the Conservancy’s beloved Kite Festival, by adding music to the colors. Live musical performances will take place throughout the Park, and guests will be able to fly their own kites, as well as purchase or build their own, and watch them soar above the Manhattan skyline at Pier 5 celebrating the one day of the year kite-flying is open to the public in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Food vendors, kids activities, and other entertainment will also join for the full-day family-friendly festival.

Big Summer Pride Twirl

SATURDAY, JUNE 8
4:00 PM - 9:00PM

Celebrate Brooklyn Pride at this free, all-ages dance party, held at Pier 3 Plaza and Central Lawn in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Join Papi Juice & Friends and enjoy DJ sets and performances. 


Lazy Daze: The Soul of Yacht Rock

SUNDAY, JUNE 9
4:00 PM - 9:00PM

Join for a panel discussion and DJ set dedicated to the legacy of yacht rock. Moderated by Scott Barkham (artist manager, yacht rock aficionado, the panel includes Gary Katz (producer, Steely Dan) and Rich Medina (world-renowned DJ).

This event kicks off the Conservancy’s new Lazy Daze series, featuring an opportunity to relax, lay out, and enjoy chill Sunday afternoons at Pier 6 Liberty Lawn in Brooklyn Bridge Park while a rotation of DJs are featured in the background. Food and drink will be available for sale by Fornino.


Sounds at Sunset: Steely Dan Happy Hour

FRIDAY, JUNE 21
6:00 PM - 9:00PM 

The Sounds at Sunset concert series is a series of free music concerts that take place on Fridays across the summer season at Pier 3 Plaza.

Kicking off the series is The Royal Scam helming a Steely Dan Happy Hour. The Royal Scam are the definitive Steely Dan Tribute featuring New York City’s elite touring and recording musicians with an opening DJ set by Maurice Bernstein (founder of Giant Step).


Puppets! With Mango Moon

SATURDAY, JUNE 22
10:00 AM - 12:00PM

Enjoy an afternoon of puppetry with Mango Moon. Build a puppet, meet wacky characters, sing catchy songs, and learn fun academic strategies, all while building key social-emotional skills. This program combines Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), academics, and off-the-wall entertainment to create a warm environment that goes above and beyond your standard children’s program.


Lazy Daze: Friends & Lovers

SUNDAY, JUNE 23
4:00 PM - 9:00PM

Friends & Lovers returns to Brooklyn Bridge Park with their signature soulful vibes, providing a safe space to let loose, be yourself, dance, make friends, and maybe fall in love. 

This event is part of the Lazy Daze series, featuring an opportunity to relax, lay out, and enjoy chill Sunday afternoons at Pier 6 Liberty Lawn in Brooklyn Bridge Park while a rotation of DJs are featured in the background. Food and drink will be available for sale by Fornino.


Shore Thing

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26
6:00 PM - 10:00PM

Join these after-work sunset socials made for New Yorkers looking for new connections and out-of-the-ordinary experiences. Get down while it goes down, find new friends, and celebrate the magic of summer in New York City. 

Shore Thing, a splashy sunset social series, will be warming up the waterfront one Wednesday a month from June through September. Set against the backdrop of the iconic city skyline and the twinkle of the Brooklyn Bridge, young New Yorkers and Brooklynites from all over are welcome to get shored up at the shoreline. 

Hosted at High Tide, the old sailing-post-turned-outdoor-terrace-bar-and-restaurant at the Fulton Ferry landing, guests will have every reason to linger, long after the last light leaves the shore.

The events are made possible by Space Invader Social in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.


Sounds at Sunset: Igmar Thomas & Musical Guests

The Sounds at Sunset concert series is a series of free music concerts that take place on Fridays across the summer season at Pier 3 Plaza.

Maestro, trumpeter, conductor, composer, and arrange Igmar Thomas hosts Jam sessions with invited musical guests.

Free public kayaking is offered throughout the summer on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Kayaking is located at Pier 2 Dock; advance registration required, open 2 weeks ahead of each date. All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary!
