The Liberty Clipper — Long Island's largest tall ship and one of the most magnificent sailing vessels on the East Coast — has made Port Jefferson Harbor her home, and she's ready to take you with her.

Built in 1983 in Mystic, Connecticut, the 125-foot traditionally rigged Liberty Clipper is a living piece of maritime history. With her towering masts, billowing sails, and classic lines, she turns heads in every harbor she enters. Now Long Island residents and visitors have the chance to step aboard and experience the magic firsthand — no experience required.

Set Sail, Raise the Sails, Take the Helm

The Liberty Clipper offers two-hour daytime and sunset sails departing from Port Jefferson Harbor throughout the season. But this isn't a passive sightseeing cruise — it's a hands-on adventure. Guests are invited to help raise the sails and take a turn at the ship's helm, making every voyage something you'll talk about for years.

  • Daytime Sails: Departs at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM — $55 per adult
  • Sunset Sails: Departs at sunset (time varies by season) — $69 per adult
  • Kids always sail for $35
  • A cash bar is available onboard, and guests are welcome to bring their own food and snacks to enjoy on the water
