The partnership kicks off June 12 with the interactive film installation Proof As If Proof Were Needed and the virtual reality film Sense of Nowhere
Astoria, New York (June 5, 2026) — Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) and the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) today announced a new three-year partnership dedicated to bringing the cutting edge of Taiwanese moving image art and technology to New York City. The partnership kicks off on June 12 with the presentation of two works: the interactive film installation Proof As If Proof Were Needed, a collaboration between artist Ting-Tong Chang and British interactive media studio Blast Theory, winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2025 SXSW Festival; and Sense of Nowhere, an interactive virtual reality project by artist Hsin Hsuan Yeh which had its international debut at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, Immersive Competition.
“We are pleased to extend our partnership with TAICCA and look forward to introducing New York audiences to the exciting work of Taiwanese filmmakers and artists who are using immersive technologies to tell stories in innovative ways,” said Aziz Isham, MoMI Executive Director.
In 2025, MoMI and TAICCA collaborated on the exhibition Portals of Solitude: Virtual Realities from Taiwan, which featured four immersive projects by Taiwanese artists.
“Building upon the strong performance of the 2025 showcase at New York's Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI), TAICCA is proud to deepen its long-term partnership with MoMI through a new three-year collaborative initiative. This critical milestone paves the way for Taiwanese technology and art to cement their position in the North American mainstream,” said Sue Wang, TAICCA Chairperson.
The two works on view this year, June 12–September 6, were organized by guest curator Michaela Ternasky-Holland.

Proof As If Proof Were Needed (2025)
Ting-Tong Chang (b. 1982, Taiwan) and Blast Theory (United Kingdom)
Proof As If Proof Were Needed is an interactive installation that transforms the experience of a relationship’s end into a dreamlike journey through domestic space. Visitors move through the floor plan of a Taiwanese house; as they step into each room, the projected image shifts to reveal that space and fragments of the story it contains. Gradually, a portrait emerges of a couple returning to their abandoned home to gather belongings and confront the secrets they have kept from one another. More information
Sense of Nowhere (2025)
Hsin Hsuan Yeh (b. 1997, Taiwan)
Where do we go when we zone out, and how do we find our way back to awareness? Inspired by Taoism, Buddhism, and Jungian psychology, director Hsin Hsuan Yeh’s VR project Sense of Nowhere blurs the line between inner world and outer reality, transforming fragmented thoughts into a tangible experience. A 2D and stop-motion animation director, Yeh crafts a visual world with a rich sonic landscape, inviting the audience to explore the subconscious, piece together hidden clues, and find their way back to the present moment.
