Osceola, N.Y. – The North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame and Museum at 1121 Comins Road in Osceola NY welcomes the Old Time Fiddle Show on Sunday, July 20th, from 2:00-5:00 pm. The Featured Performers include Gretchan Koehler, the 2012 NYS inductee into the North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame and TAUNY’s 2014 Heritage Award recipient. Joining her on stage is Don Woodcock, the 1987 NYS Fiddler Inductee and the 1997 TAUNY Heritage Award winner. Don was an outstanding resource for the PBS show, TAUNY’s Songs to Keep.
Canadian couple, Jeremy Rusu and Annie Davey, bring their wide experience with many instruments and in music of multi genre. Jeremy, blind since birth, plays instruments including piano, drums, mandolin, accordion, and bagpipe. He first became known to Osceola’s audiences when he accompanied Patti Kustoruk when she was inducted into Osceola’s North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame. Jeremy’s wife, Annie Davey, is a librarian and fiddler, originally from Norfolk NY. She is the President of the North Country Fiddlers chapter of the NYS Old Tyme Fiddlers Assn. The chapter was founded by Annie’s father, Carl Davey. She hosts frequent JAMS at the Potsdam Public Library.
The Old Time Fiddle Show will play from 2:00-5:00 pm, with an opportunity for the audience to join in the JAM during the Featured Performers’ break from 3:00-4:00 pm. Prepared snacks and beverages will be available in the Fiddlers Kitchen throughout the afternoon. The Pavilion has plenty of seating, and can be enclosed in case of inclement weather. There is a dance floor, a brick patio with picnic tables, a children’s play area, the Museum store and a flea market. The Museum and Hall of Fame are open and available during public events on site, as well as by appointment.
The site is handicap accessible. Free parking is available on the left side of the shared driveway. The site is smoke-free, pet-free, and drug-free.
