Tri-Lakes Pride - SLA C of CSaranac Lake, NY — The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that it has become the new fiscal sponsor of Tri-Lakes Pride, ensuring the continued growth and sustainability of one of the Adirondacks' signature celebrations of diversity, inclusion, and community.

The 6th Annual Tri-Lakes Pride Festival will take place on Sunday, June 6, 2027, at Riverside Park in Saranac Lake, New York. The day will begin with the annual Tri-Lakes Pride Parade down Main Street, immediately followed by the festival in Riverside Park, featuring live entertainment, community organizations, vendors, food, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to celebrate the vibrant LGBTQIA+ community that calls the Adirondacks home.

As fiscal sponsor, the Chamber will provide administrative and financial support while working alongside Tri-Lakes Pride volunteers to expand programming and strengthen the event's long-term future. Beyond the annual festival, organizers are planning a robust calendar of activities throughout the year, including educational programs, social gatherings, community service opportunities, partnerships with local businesses, arts and cultural events, and celebrations recognizing important dates within the LGBTQIA+ community. These year-round events are intended to foster connection, visibility, and belonging while building excitement leading up to Pride Month each June.

Leading the effort as Tri-Lakes Pride Coordinator is George Connelly, who brings years of experience

organizing Pride celebrations and LGBTQIA+ community events in Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

"I'm incredibly honored to help lead Tri-Lakes Pride into its next chapter," said George Connelly, Tri-Lakes Pride Coordinator. "The Tri-Lakes has already demonstrated that there is tremendous support for creating welcoming spaces where everyone belongs. I'm excited to bring the experience I've gained coordinating Pride celebrations in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., while working alongside local volunteers to build something that reflects the unique spirit of the Adirondacks. This is about celebrating our community, supporting local businesses and organizations, and ensuring that everyone who lives here—or visits here—knows they are welcome."

The Chamber sees the partnership as a natural extension of its mission to strengthen the community and support an inclusive regional economy.

"The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to serve as the fiscal sponsor for Tri-Lakes Pride," said Christine Farah, Executive Director of the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. "We are proud to help organize and support an annual event that truly welcomes everyone to the Tri-Lakes region. Pride

is not only a celebration of our LGBTQIA+ community—it is a celebration of the values that make this area such a special place to live, work, and visit. We look forward to working with volunteers, community partners, businesses, and residents to make 2027 our best Pride celebration yet."

The Chamber and Tri-Lakes Pride also wish to recognize the individuals whose dedication laid the foundation for the event's continued success.

Special thanks are extended to Kelly Metzger and the Adirondack North Country Gender Alliance for envisioning, founding, coordinating, and growing the first, second, third, and fourth Tri-Lakes Pride celebrations. Their leadership established Pride as an important annual tradition in the North Country, Adirondack region as well as the Tri-Lakes.

The organization also extends its sincere appreciation to Jordanna Mallach and Johnna MacDougall for their leadership and coordination during the 2026 transition period, ensuring a smooth handoff and positioning the organization for continued success.

Tri-Lakes Pride is now seeking enthusiastic community members to help make the 2027 celebration a success. Individuals interested in joining the planning committee, volunteering, performing as entertainers, participating as vendors, becoming sponsors, or getting involved in any capacity are encouraged to reach out.
