Glens Falls, NYCommunity Day is an annual tradition at The Hyde Collection! The Museum opens its doors to the community free of charge, and everyone is invited to explore the current exhibitions, take a guided tour with a trained docent, create your own work of art in a variety of hands-on art activities, enjoy live music, and more. Guests are encouraged to pick up an interactive adult or family guide and engage with kinetic sculptures in the new exhibition George Rickey Across Time throughout the Museum campus. Don’t miss The Hyde’s additional premier summer exhibitions on view, Architect[ural] and Prosperity and Exclusion: European Prints from 1500-1850 featuring modern art and master works from the permanent collection.

Guided tours of Hyde House and current exhibitions will be available in the morning and afternoon. A new event taking place this year is the Community Partners Showcase, an opportunity for community organizations to share more about their mission and offer an activity for participants from 10 am to 2 pm, featuring Willow Counseling, National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, Café Lena, Glens Falls Arts District organizations and more. Get moving with instructors from Fit4Mom during a family friendly movement moment at 10:30 am, then at 11 am join local author and illustrator Anthony Richichi for a reading of his book, Colorworld: The Adirondack Adventure. Food will be available for purchase courtesy of Neighborhood Kitchen between 11 am and 2 pm, and live music will be enjoyed on the lawn with a special performance by Girl Blue. All activities apart from Museum tours will take place outside, weather permitting, and move inside the Museum in the event of rain. Visit hydecollection.org to learn more about the exhibitions and upcoming programs.
