Ten Mile River Scout MuseumNarrowsburg, N.Y. (July 8, 2020) --  The Ten Mile River Scout Museum, located on the grounds of Ten Mile River Scout Camps’ headquarters, 1481 County Road 26, Narrowsburg, N.Y. will open for the summer season soon after Sullivan County enters Phase IV; on or about July 16th. The hours are Thursday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. EDT and 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. EDT. The museum will close for the summer six weeks after the opening date.

Sullivan County Partnership for Economic DevelopmentMonticello, N.Y. - (April 21, 2020) - The Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development (“Partnership”) has announced that it has received 11 applications for its Disaster Relief Workforce Emergency Fund (“DRWEF”). The fund was established from a donation by the Louis R. Cappelli Foundation (“Cappelli Foundation”) from the remaining proceeds of the Disaster Relief Revolving Loan Fund (“DRRLF”) originally established to assist businesses that suffered from natural disasters when they were confronted with back-to-back tropical storms Irene and Sandy.  The DRRLF assisted four businesses totaling $40,000 and the businesses leveraged an additional $200,000 in ancillary investments.

Hanford Mills Museum Ice Harvest FestivalEast Meredith, NY – Hanford Mills Museum in the Catskills’ East Meredith will hold the 31st annual Ice Harvest Festival on Saturday, February 1, 2020. The popular winter event celebrates an activity that was essential before mechanical refrigeration. Using historic tools and techniques, visitors can cut and harvest ice from the Mill pond and transfer it to the ice house using bobsleds. Each year, seven to eight tons of ice are harvested.

Bethel, NY (August 01, 2018) – Today The Museum at Bethel Woods, located at the National Register Historic Site of the 1969 Woodstock Music & Art Fair in Bethel, NY launched an online archive of Woodstock photography and video from its collection; making rare archival images available to the public for the first time on the eve of the festival’s 49th Anniversary.

Waterwheel - Hanford Mills MuseumJuly 28 program offers free admission and special activities for families  

East Meredith, N.Y. – Waterwheels big and small will be featured at Free Family Saturday on July 28 at Hanford Mills Museum. Visitors can tour the historic water-powered mill and see how the 1926 Fitz overshot waterwheel is used to operate the historic sawmill, gristmill, and woodworking machines.

Bethel, N.Y. (July 18, 2018) –  The Museum at Bethel Woods will be hosting a new sculpture exhibit of works by artist Glenn Zweygardt on view July 19th through October 31st. The exhibit titled Set in Stone: The Sculpture of Glenn Zweygardt, will be the most recent iteration of an annual series showcasing exemplary sculpture on the beautiful grounds at Bethel Woods. Zweygardt’s work has previously been featured, and one statue, "Oval Keeper," which has been at the museum since 2017, will remain on view along with the three new works arriving this month.
