Vietnam MedalFarmingdale, NY, - Long Island’s Vietnam War veterans will receive the Vietnam 50th Anniversary Commemorative Medal in a solemn ceremony signifying the official end of United States involvement in the Vietnam War.  Conducted by the Long Island Air and Space Forces Association and hosted by the American Airpower Museum, the ceremony takes place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, starting at 11:30 a.m., and honors 30 local veterans who served in all branches of the U.S. Military during the Vietnam War period.

Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum New Engine ExhibitNorth Tonawanda, N.Y. — The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum has unveiled its new exhibit Phantom of the Brass Era: The Herschell-Spillman Motor Company. During a grand opening for the exhibit on April 18th, the museum also announced the acquisition of a 1923 Standard Sedanette automobile with an intact H-S V-8.

146 Volunteers ReenactorsScheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2:00 pm

Utica, N.Y. -- May 2024 marks the 160th anniversary of the Battle of the Wilderness. The casualties were high with almost half of the enlisted men and officers becoming casualties. The 146th New York Volunteers from Oneida County had several soldiers among the injured and captured. This program by Michael Fisher will share the personal stories of these men and emphasize the terrible consequences of this deadly Civil War battle.
