Saratoga ArtsSaratoga Springs, N.Y. – Saratoga Arts is excited to announce the commencement of its long-awaited renovation to 320 Broadway.  Funding for the project comes from several sources: a capital project grant award totaling $766,000 from the New York State Council for the Arts (NYSCA), $1.1M in funds from the City of Saratoga Springs, as well as individual and foundation contributions.

HibercationCayuga County (January 2025) - This winter, escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and discover the art of Hibercation in picturesque Cayuga County. From January 15th through March 15th, this two-month promotional event invites visitors to slow down, unwind, and embrace the quiet joys of the winter season.

Hibercation—a hybrid of hibernation and vacation—is all about finding solace in cozy surroundings, savoring comforting meals, and reconnecting with nature during the winter months.

Aquarium of NiagaraNiagara Falls, N.Y. (JAN. 3, 2025) – The Aquarium of Niagara is thrilled to announce two tiny new residents – the first spotted turtle hatchlings in Aquarium history. The hatchlings were discovered in the Aquarium’s off-exhibit holding area earlier this fall. Female spotted turtles bury their eggs in sand, where they incubate for 50 to 90 days. At just 3 and 3.5 centimeters in length and weighing only 4.4 and 6.5 grams respectively when found, these turtles were incredibly small, but their hatching marks a milestone for the Aquarium.

Schweinfurth constructionAuburn, NY (Dec. 20. 2024) -- Construction work at the Schweinfurth Art Center is making progress on the center’s entrance addition, and connecting walkways to the Cayuga Museum of History & Art next door have been completed. Due to weather and procurement issues, the Schweinfurth’s substantial completion date has been pushed to mid-March.

Architect Frida Escobedo is the first woman to design a wing in the Museum’s 154-year history

New York, N.Y. (December 10, 2024) --  The Metropolitan Museum of Art today unveiled the design by architect Frida Escobedo for the Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Wing that will create a dynamic new home for The Met’s renowned collection of 20th- and 21st-century art.
